Meet the CEO – Mr. Suren Panday

Suren has in excess of 29 years’ international experience of which 23 years was at a senior corporate level. During his successful corporate career, Suren progressed rapidly, worked internationally and was an executive board member of many multinational companies. He left the corporate world in 2008, to set exercise his entrepreneurial skills in the SMME sector.

Suren’s vision is to ensure that unemployment is reduced in South Africa, thus stimulating economic growth and development. This culminated in Suren pursing a Masters’ in Science Degree through Manchester University in 2013, where his research area was “The causes of business failure amongst SME’s in the Province of Kwa-Zulu Natal”.  Due to the ground breaking recommendations emanating from his research, Suren was awarded a pass with distinction and his research was amongst the top 3 students internationally.

Apart from his Masters’ in Science degree, Suren is also a Chartered Accountant (UK) and a Chartered Management Accountant (UK). Currently, Suren is pursuing his PHD and his research will be on the migration of Chartered Accountants from South Africa to other economies.

Since 2008, Suren has:

  • Established SADL Consulting Services, which services both the Public and Private Sectors across South Africa;
  • Diversified into the Telecommunications industry by opening retail stores across South Africa.  These initiatives have led to the creation of more than 100 direct jobs (and close onto 500 indirect jobs);
  • Mentored and developed in excess of 250 SME’s over the past 6 years

Suren has an insatiable appetite to enhance his knowledge through business experience and continuous learning. He keeps abreast with the latest developments through attending and facilitating formal business and training courses; participating in workshops on financial regulatory legislation and industry issues through CIMA (UK) and ACCA (UK), and by playing an active role with local universities
